The Labs, reopened
From March 2007 to January 2009 this domain held a French web developer's blog and a small Labs section of tools given away for free. The best known was Smoothbox, a MooTools port of Thickbox, whose page gathered 325 comments. This is an English look back at all of it: every tool, every post in its original French, and a short note on what the web did next.

Tools that did one thing
Four tools, each built to fix one irritation. A modal box for MooTools sites, a JavaScript packer you could use without compiling it, an editor colour theme, and a userscript for a feed reader. Each card says what the problem was in 2007 and what solves it now.
